Millennium Wellness USA is a nationwide company that treats thousands of patients with Bioidentical Hormone Replacement
Therapy (BHRT).  Bioidentical hormones are derived from plants, such as wild yams or soybean plant.  These plants contain  
precursor molecules that can be converted in the laboratory into hormones that have the same molecular structure as those
produced in the human body.  Bioidentical hormones produce the same physiologic response in the body as those made in the
body.

History of Hormone Therapy
1942 Pregnant mares urine is used to synthesize estrogen.  Patented by Ayest (predecessor to Wyeth)  Approved by the FDA
1962 Robert Wilson MD., writes "Feminine Forever".  
          "Cure for the tragedy of menopause...the deficiency disease...a disease so insidiously
           blended with chronological aging that there is a tendency for it to be overlooked".  
Estrogen sales quadrupled.
1969 David Reuben MD., writes "Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex".  
                                      "Estrogen is a menopausal cure all"
1973 Harpers Bazaar declares
                  "There does not seem to be a sexy thing that estrogen can't do...
                                 a real package that spruces up your vagina".
30 million prescription every year, about half of all menopausal women.
1975 Two studies show estrogen use increases endometrial cancer risk 14 times.
1976 R.Hoover NEJM documents increase in risk of breast cancer in 1,800 women taking estrogen.
1985 Framingham Heart shows that 1,234 women on estrogen had 50% more CV events, twice as many strokes.
1995 Prempro by Wyeth approved by FDA.  Estroegn/progestin combination.
1995 PEPI (JAMA) Combination of equine estrogen and progesterone/progestin.  Unopposed estrogen lead to atypical
hyperplasia.  In women with a uterus estrogen with progesterone had the most favorable effect on HDL with no risk of
hyperplasia.
1998 HERS study (funded by Wyeth).  HRT did not reduce CV in women with heart disease.  Increased blood clots and GB
disease.
2000 Duramed submits new drug application.  Cenestin is an equine estrogen made from soy.
2002 WHI study.  Conjugated equine estrogen progestin arm stopped due to increase-MI, stokes, blood clots and cancer.
2003 FDA approves new dosage of estrogens with progestins.  
          "Based on the evidence, the FDA believes that estrogens and estrogen with progestin
           products provide valuable therapy for many post menopausal women, particularly
                              those with hot flashes and those with vaginal dryness".
2003 Thomas (Climacteric) Synthetic prgestins caused endothelail disruption, accummulation of monocytes in the vessel wall,
platelet activation and clot formation.  Natural progesterone or estrogens did not show such toxicity.




1981 Cowan (AM J Epidemiology). Progesterone deficiency was associated with 5.4 times greater risk of premenopausal breast
cancer.
1998 Fromby (Ann Clin Lab Sci) Progesterone was found to inhibit growth and induce apoptosis in breast cancer cells.
2004 Dimitrakakis et al (Menopause) Testosterone lowers risk of breast cancer incidence.
2005 Parker et al (Ob Gyn) E and T increased survival for CHD and fractures.
